Neutered Mages of DOOOM

Ahhh Dragon Age.  I admittedly have yet to actually finish the game  >.>  *Ducks*

Hey now! It wasn't my fault my laptop at the time imploded. I have been saving it for a special treat to get totally lost in again one of these days soon. ^_^  However, I did notice some strange things in my brief time playing. (Other than it was completely awesome and it killed me that my laptop died because I'm the type of person who can't re-read a book, so replaying everything once I had a computer up and running a month later was just too soon for me to redo everything...)

Apparently all mages need to be... neutered. Actually, given the climate in game, that isn't totally surprising. Both male and female mages wear symbolisms of their genatalia worn on the outside of their robes.

Ladies get a lovely conch shaped... belt.... buckle?
As for the guys, you get to have two flattened nutsacks draped from your belt.

I'm sure there is some sort of deep commentary here, but I'm too tired at the moment to contemplate what it is. That and not having actually finished the game, I don't feel like I can speak for the lore or world much since I haven't actually fully experienced it. In any case, it's across the board, and very likely fits into the story line somehow about how mages are totally evil and need to be controlled. Or something.

But why is it that only the ladies have to wear license plates on their rear?

I can just imagine some mage going out of control... and being reported. "Yes, sir! It was indeed, a mage! I saw their butt plate clearly! "RUATWIT". No sir, No! I didn't mean to offend you..."

And then the offending mage is hunted down for being a rogue threat to all humanity. But, being a clever magey - they would sneak into some other party camp and switch their license plate with another mages! MUAHAHA! So when some enforcer/poor sod finally catches up with them, the wrong mage gets whacked. Whoops?

Favorite iOS Games: Danger Cats!

I do hope you are ready for your monthly quotient of cute because Danger Cats (Full / Trial) is adorable. In a mad sniggling squee worthy kind of way. The sheer amount of twisted glee I had playing this, torturing poor cats as I tried to save them (... and sometimes didn't.... >.>) has yet to be matched by anything else I've found.

The goal of this physics puzzler is to get the cats safely to solid ground. Sometimes the solid ground is a long stretch of grass.... and other times... a narrow bit of something. As you touch objects, they dissapear, causing the balance and other objects to move following the laws of physics. The tricky part comes in when it's not simply about physics alone, but timing that will help you save these adorkable cats.

The game has 80 levels (which for me was not nearly enough...) spread over four different themed areas. I appreciated the changes in scenery, as I imagine even with as much as I loved it, 80 levels with the same objects would get boring.

The levels can be entirely static at the start....

...or dynamic with pieces in motion as soon as the level starts.

I must now confess to you all that I am a very sick and twisted person, because my favorite part is when you lose a cat and the other cats on screen make a horrified expression and noise. The game then pops up phrases worthy of calling the pun police such as: "Mass Hiss-Teria!" (which causes me to sniggle madly every time it pops up), "Cat-Astrophe!", and of course:

I showed this game to anyone at work who would listen to me >.> Even those people who don't normally play games (much less own a cell phone or ipod) were charmed by it. How could one not be?

Fashion Friday: QQF WOW....

So yes, I still peek into WOW as I have more than a few friends still playing. While I appreciate all the work that went into remaking the entirety of Azeroth after the great cataclysm... some part of me still feels it was too late. I loved the new areas and content, and especially the humor and easter eggs. The Octo-Hat is still my favorite quest EVER. I swear I put it on my head over and over and over and over and over and giggled maniacally with glee. It was also pretty awesome that I  could earn my very own tentacle porn staff with questing. Regardless, I am digressing. (As usual >.>) The point is I still try to pay a bit of attention to what is happening in the land of WOW.

Which brings me to the news that Blizzard just released the Tier 13 mage set.

It must be some sort of fashion faux pas to wear goggles over a cowl right? RIGHT???

What is the point? I don't understand. Their glow power would be useless unless in a pitch black environment, and even then it would be more like advertising yourself as Bait. And while I happen to enjoy doing that, I imagine most squishy clothies don't particularly fancy the idea. Even pulling them down to use would be cumbersome with the cowl... unless they are psychic vision goggles?

I can't even begin to fathom the useful, but I'm still stuck on the why.  I mean really. Rocket Lights? Glow Horns? Is it simply to confuse one's enemies?   -mind boggles-    .....  Keeping in touch with the mothership?   .....  -sighs and just gives up trying to understand-  .....

The Triplet Mini Mages: Yukiko's Journal Page 1

The Triplet Mini Mages of DOOOM:
The Perplexing Adventures of Cotton Candy, Bubblegum and Ice Cream.
Loch de Qwaa?!?

The Journal and Diary of Yukiko:
Don't you dare read this Mizzy or Ryuu!!!
Seriously! Bugger Off!!

Loch Modan, on some day that isn't today but rather some other recent day.

It has come to my attention that my dear sister Mizzy has a sheep addiction. She turns something into a sheep, which is all well and good, but, instead of then beating it to death in the wise and proper fashion of things that want to eat you for dinner, she resheeps it, and then... sheeps it again. I had an entire tea time picnic the other day while she kept resheeping this one trogg. I'm not entirely sure where this pathology comes from, but I must agree that sheep does taste better than trogg.

Ryuu is afraid of rabbits. Deathly afraid in fact. She zots them dead on sight. She insists they are trying to eat her, but I think they are just trying to be friendly. (That is, the ones that even realize she's there before she toasts them with her flambe power.) I have tried to warn her that wolpertinger season is coming up, and she gets very very upset. Then again, in that case, I can't blame her. Bunnies with sharp pointy fangs are never a good thing. EVER.

As for me, well, I just can't seem to figure out why the wildlife is so darned unfriendly. The fuzzy bears, cuddly spiders and huggable boars... I just don't understand why they are all so angry. They always want to eat me. It's like I'm food or something. *sigh*

Oh! And if the whole sheep thing wasn't irritating enough, Mizzy is a total Herb-i-whore.

*facepalm* Constantly running off and getting into trouble! >.> Though truthfully, I'm a bit worse, I think, when I go for the ore. Not that I'd ever admit that to Mizzy or Ryuu. >.> I always manage to get multiple things attempting to snack on me and give me death. Cake please!!!

PS - I seem to be haunted by our long dead and dearly beloved cat Thori - I keep seeing her as I run into walls. It's very puzzling. I'll be leading us all along some pathway then while jogging I run face-first into the wall. I could swear I see Thori, lingering on the edge of my vision and being all kinds of distracting. Not much different from when she was alive, come to think of it. My sisters, of course, think I'm just loopy, but whatever. I'd rather be a bit mental and hallucinating remembering Thori rather than remembering the really traumatic things like when we visited Gnomeregan and were all totally unsettled by the memories of when Dad ate Mom. Stupid Zombies. I can't wait till I'm old enough to whack the Lich King myself for that.

Many Thanks and Love to Lady M and Miss J, my Fellow Mini Mages!

WTF Wednesday: Sanctum's Pet Dinosaur

Imagine my surprise while running through the streets of Sanctum to get to the crafting hall and the various trainers there when I noticed a large creature out of the corner of my eye.

Aside from my initial fear it was going to jump down from where it was and squash me...

Why on Aetria is there a giant dinosaur living in the city of Sanctum?

It really does not look happy to be there. I can't blame it. If I were a dinosaur and used to living on the ground and found myself magically air lifted by a herd of flying humanoids to live in their city in the sky, I might be disgruntled too. Not to mention lonely.

And yes, I do realize that it is entirely possible that it was just teleported to Sanctum like most daevas in and out of the city. Even so, it would still be disturbing (not to mention disorienting).

The Sea of Glowies!

Glowies Ahoy!

Just one of the perks of being UBER.

Even if I had to go into a Lvl 38 dungeon at 80 to feel like it. >.>

WTF Weds: The Tentacle Staff

The Creepiest Weapon I Have Ever Encountered

Yeah. I don't think I've been as creeped out by anything as much as this.

I wish I had a video of it to illuminate the maximum "YEEECCHhhKKk" Factor.

Fashion Friday: I'm Too Sexy for My Skirt...

Too Sexy for My Skirt... Prancing Little Flirt!

I realize at this angle it does not look particularly short. But trust me, it is. When I can run my toon up a flight of stairs in the game and do not have my camera under her and in fact at a point higher than level with the ground and still see under her skirt... it's too short. Now now, I understand some people enjoy panty shots. (I am not one of them.) I've read my fair share of fan service manga and it doesn't offend me, but all the same, I do have to point it out. Mostly because I find it funny. Yes, yes, I could play a dude, sure. However, I have always felt most comfortable playing female toons in games (when I can).

What actually makes it truly hilarious for me is the arms and character movement while walking and running. I have got to get a video of the toon running...

...and then there is the other matter of the dance. *facepalm*
