Fashion Friday: The Secret to Snake Taming Revealed!

Are you ready for this?

I have discovered the secret to snake taming...

 Flower Power!

Apparently it is a giant flower on your hip, and judging by it's colorfulness and sheer size, it must be very very scent laden. Either that or they don't have good hygiene and it serves a different purpose entirely.

Erm... Your Hut is on Fire... Hellooo??

While questing in Dustwallow Marsh and doing quests for the witch in the woods, I found myself beating back Grimtotem tauren. I was instructed to burn their tents, which I felt kinda guilty about, but not as guilty as realizing the Grimtotem were apparently fire-blind and daft and were going to die in the fires I just set.

Uhhhh... Your Huts on Fire... Helloooo??? Fleee???

The tent is going up in flames and they are just standing there. Surrounded by flame, and they don't even flinch. No one is bringing water. No help is coming... and still... they just stand there, staring at the flames, not moving a muscle, not even the slightest twitch. It is becoming obvious to me that these Grimtotem couldn't have possibly done what Tabetha believes they did.

I doubt the entire Grimtotem tribe was responsible for burning down the Shady Rest Inn. They are suspected because of the hoof prints left outside the inn, but what if that was where one of these fire-blind Grimtotems just happened to be standing there and went up in flames with the inn?  I find this a much more plausible conclusion than them being smart enough to cause arson AND escape from it.

WTF Weds: One Cow to Dominate them All!

Soooooo.... yes. I admit it. Farmville amuses me. Well, it did, until it became so utterly wtf ridiculous with the timed quests that were nearly impossible to finish, one after another after another. The rapid fire insanity rocketed the game far far away from the land of something casual and amusing so I meandered off to other things that were more relaxing... but not before I discovered the one cow to dominate them all. Take that Ash! Someone should probably warn Duncan MacLeod too.

No matter which calf grew up (this was before the new breeding system and cow pasture additions) it was always a Holstein Cow (once that particular cow was introduced). I found it utterly baffling and highly perplexing. These examples aren't even all of them. This occurrence happened enough times for me to go WTF?!? before deciding that I wasn't crazy (alright, that is still debatable), and that I should take screen captures and catalog the conundrum. (If only to keep some grasp on my sanity. Oh Hush! It's all about the little lies we tell ourselves to get through the day, go with it!)

Congratulations! Cow Conundrum!

Apparently the Holstein cows have some seriously dominant genes.

Fashion Friday: The Aptly Timed Scuba Suit

I was totally happy when I got to the now flooded Barrens to discover that I was given my very own scuba suit! Awesome! No more worries about splashing around in the water logged desert now!

Favorite iOS Games: Miriel the Magical Merchant

I will confess to having enjoyed Diner Dash back in the day. I've never played any of the sequels, and most time management games stress me out! So...  I tend to avoid them. I was pretty surprised when I got really drawn into Miriel the Magical Merchant (Iphone $1.99 / Ipad Free /Ipad $4.99). I played it on my iPod and I found the game to be very slick - both in execution and in graphics.  The levels got more and more complicated, but at a gradual pace that made the game feel very smooth. Instead of say, too many hard things at once overwhelming the player and them going up in flames, heh. I lean towards fantasy (settings, stories, etc.) so this was a perfect fit for me.

In Miriel, there is a cute little back story, and a hint of RPG as you can sometimes select what to say. You serve various fantasy village types throughout the game, running a bakery of sorts. You start with basic ingredients (water, flour, eggs) and as the game progresses you use those three in combination with various other elements in the game (which unlock as you progress) to serve the customers.

There is the typical upgrading of things (Miriel can eventually carry four things at a time), speed bonuses, and equipment upgrades (unlocking a second oven, speeding the ovens up) and so on.  At the end of the day, ones earnings are calculated and you are shown how many customers you have served (or lost from impatience) in addition to the average happiness level of the customers.

For all the levels that you don't get a perfect score on, you can go back and redo them again if you want to after completing the main story run. If you like Time Mangement games, I'd recommend Miriel. Assuming of course, you like a fantasy setting. ^_^

I'm a slacker....

Perhaps you noticed the lull (and by lull I mean complete absence) of posts from about mid-December. First of all, my apologies for being a slacker. >.< Between the holidays, my health, and whack-a-mole frenzy towards applying to anything and everything I can find to land a job... you get the idea.

I'm still (desperately) seeking a job... so if you know of any that are telecommuting (preferably but not required) and perfect for quirky loons with an off kilter perspective that love gaming.... drop me a line, eh? (Please? Pretty Please? I'd offer cherries but I don't have any. I'm not a fan of cherries. Grapes? Strawberries? Apples? Oranges? Anything you'd like....)
